Ruben is a medical doctor with clinical training in emergency  medicine. After his practice on the clinical field he obtained a Master in Business Administration (MBA) and at October 2009 he joined the Imperial College as a student of Master in Public Health (MPH).

Before arriving in the UK, he was working in the Ministry of Health in Chile as a member of the Deputy Minister’s cabinet. During this time, his responsibilities were to provide insight and analysis regarding matters related with health management, and as the medical member of the cabinet, representing the health authorities in several instances and meetings.

In addition, he took responsibility leadering several projects and initiatives , such as Medical Chief Officer in Prehospitary Health Response in DAKAR Racing 2009 Chile Argentina, member of Influenza AH1N1 Task Force 2009, executive officer in the Ministry of Health IAs ntervention of Hospital de Talca 2009 and finally conducting the join study with the Chilean Medical Association about the situation of the emergency services in Chile.

As President of several student’s organisations, such as Medical Student’s Union and MBA’s Student Union in Chile, he developed an interesting career in International Health, as founder member and first VicePresident of External Affairs in the International Federation of Medical Student’s Organization in Chile (IFMSA-Chile) and representing his country in several international meetings. Finally, in 2006, and working through two years, Ruben was the President of the Organizing Committee of the IFMSA March Meeting 2006 in Pucon, Chile, with the participation of more than 600 medical students from 65 countries. At Imperial, Ruben founded the Imperial International Public Health Society as one of the officials Union’s clubs and societies, in order to increase the awareness and engagement between the students and global health projects carried out at Imperial.

Currently Ruben is working in London in IHS Global Insight as Healthcare and Pharmaceutical analyst, focused in Latin American markets.

His main interests are in Global Health, Healthcare & Pharmaceutical Markets Access, Public Policies and Project Management.

    Very interesting and complex issue haw to deal with patients with rare diseases.Need to put over the table all aspects.
